Reco da Baixa was launched by 4 friends who really like suckling pig sandwiches, Tomás Roquette, Rui Paiva, Henrique Pereira Leite and João Pedro Pereira Leite. Reco da Baixa concept does not wish the restaurant to be mistaken for a Portuguese "tasca" but neither does it want to be taken for a Michelin-starred restaurant, it simply wants to offer own-made top quality products.
